Neighborhood Harvest is an organization dedicated to harvesting fruit and nuts that would otherwise go to waste from people's yards in and around Ashland. We will only harvest fruit that has not been sprayed with pesticides. At least 26% of what we harvest is donated to local hunger relief organizations, 25% is for our harvesters, 25% we offer to the home owner, and the remaining 25% we sell and trade in order to support the organization.
To date, we have harvested over 7,000 pounds of fruit, all from within 15 miles of Ashland. Our goal is to harvest 20,000 pounds of fruit by the Winter of 2010. We have over 200 people on our harvest e-mail list.
